Distribution center and facility design
Size the building around the flow, not the other way round. We turn your volume, order profile and growth plan into a layout, a storage plan and a capacity limit you can defend to finance.
Book a scoping callWhen to call us
- You are choosing between expanding, relocating or building new.
- The building is full and nobody can say by how much, or when.
- A real estate decision is due before the operation has been designed.
How we approach it
- Baseline volume, order profile, SKU velocity and seasonality from your own data.
- Size storage, docks, staging and labor for today and for the design year.
- Develop two or three layout concepts and score them on throughput, cost and flexibility.
- Recommend one, with the phasing to get there without stopping the operation.
Questions
What data do you need to start?
Twelve months of order lines, receipts and inventory snapshots, plus the item master. If the data is incomplete we say so in the first week and size the gap, rather than designing around assumptions nobody signed off.
Do you design the building itself?
We design the operation inside it: flow, storage, docks, equipment and labor. We work alongside your architect and real estate advisors and give them the clear heights, floor loads, dock counts and column spacing the operation needs.
Can you work on a building we already occupy?
Yes. Many projects are a re-layout of an existing site. The list of constraints changes; the method does not.
Talk it through
A scoping call costs nothing. You receive a written estimate before any work is billed.
